​Jonathan Cuartas
is a Colombian-American filmmaker from Miami. In 2020, Jonathan completed his feature debut, My Heart Can't Beat Unless You Tell It To.
​Jonathan won the Citizen Kane Award for Best Directorial Revelation at Sitges, where the film was also awarded Best Feature Film in the Noves Visions category.
The film also received a Special Jury Mention at Tribeca Film Festival.
​
Jonathan graduated film school in 2016, screening his thesis film at Palm Springs International ShortFest.
His next short, The Horse and the Stag, won Best After Dark Short at Indie Memphis. Jonathan is a proud 2019 Sundance Knight Fellow.

Jonathan is best friends with his older brother Michael Cuartas, who just so happens to be a cinematographer.
